Looking for a road trip partner (US)
Hello, fellow road trip enthusiasts! I’ve always loved road trips and I go places whenever I can. Lately my friends haven’t been able to get enough time off of work to do anything epic, and meeting new people is always fun. It’s probably a long shot, but I’m looking for someone who wants to go places and see things. Everything is better with company!
About me: I’m 38M, I have a good car (and insurance), a clean driving record, no DUIs or accidents, a professional career, and a love for driving and exploring (and photography, it goes well with exploring). I’m easy to get along with, talkative, and I try to accept everyone as they are without judgement.
About the trip: I’d like to travel the old highways, back roads, and small towns around the continental US (not really looking to go to Mexico or Canada this trip). I’d like to make it a longer trip, anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. There’s no itinerary so if we decide to bail early or keep going longer that’s possible. The timeline will probably be spring or summer 2022.
Road activities include seeing the scenery, talking, listening to music, listening to Netflix or YouTube (you can watch, I’ll keep my eyes on the road), or just vibing and enjoying each other’s company in silence.
Destination activities could include exploring new places, looking for abandoned buildings, antique stores, local coffee shops, weird tourist attractions, maybe getting lost on some back roads (some of my best pictures come from that). I’m up for nearly anything as long as it’s legal and doesn’t hurt anyone.
Accommodations will probably range from hotels and B&Bs to campsites (I have a couple of hammocks) and maybe a few nights of roughing it in the car. If you work remotely we can arrange to have good internet periodically.
Potential partners should be comfortable with long stretches on the road, prefer riding over driving (but you can drive too sometimes if you want), be over 18, and be excited about going places. It’s ok if you drink and/or smoke (but no alcohol in the car). I’m 420 tolerant (I very, very rarely partake) but I’d rather not have it in the vehicle. It doesn’t really matter where you live but I’m on the east coast so being nearby might make it easier. Oh and no outstanding warrants… I don’t want to be harboring a fugitive! You don’t have to pay, but if you have money we can split things. Also please don’t murder me or steal my car.
