loop de loop in America off season
Hello fellow travelers
My wife and I are road tripping America nov-dec-jan for 66 days as a honeymoon/after school trip:
The main focus is food and urban scenery, but would like to see some nature as well. I created this itinerary based on some research here (deep into the rabbit hole) and reading online. I understand that this time of the year is problematic weather-wise: cold and snowy in high altitudes. It seemed sensible to me to start east coast and move westward, since most probably won't be able to visit the major NPs in the west coast due to weather issues. I'm not even sure that those I pinned down are doable, and would like to hear your opinion.
some additional details and points necessary to mention:
- 5 days in New York to recover from air hang over
- planning on renting a medium private/SUV- both of us will be driving
- Chicago is Mandatory- family matters. badum tsss. also Boston
- Planning on new year's in New Orleans
- Would like to go to see some amusement parks in Orlando
- I want to ride a hovercraft and see alligators in the everglades
would you do anything differently? west to east? the 40 on the way back?
would appreciate any input
