Flying to Boston to start a weeklong New England road trip. Seeking recommendations!
Hello and greetings! My wife and I just realized that she has never really experienced New England, so we’re planning a weeklong roadtrip in 2022. We plan to fly from Pittsburgh to Boston, rent a car and then head out for about week. Once we’re out of Boston, where should we go and what routes should we take (if not just the most direct ones)? I would like to make sure we hit Newport, RI; Portland, ME; and Mystic, CT (or a similar such place). Anywhere else? We’re primarily city people but love cute towns and the outdoors. We want to eat seafood, see the ocean and experience nature. We’ll be traveling in September/October. We plan on bookending our trip with stays in Boston.
