Exploring NE coast and New England (First Time)
Taking a solo trip Sept 3rd-12thand need some advice although I think I have a decent plan so far.
Work only allows me to take off one week at a time so with that week, and both weekends I get 10 days. During my travels I plan to camp where possible or get an air BnB, during the days I will explore town, state parks, local bars, beaches, and also skate parks (I like to skateboard). Might bring the kayak too. I'm also a big arcade nut and love space, I'm a big fan of the air and space museum down in DC, I love aquariums too, I've only been to the national harbor in Baltimore.
My plan is to leave Baltimore and head north. I have done Philly and NYC more times than I can count, so I will be skipping those 2 cities. From there, in this order, is what I have planned.
Day 1- Wilmington, DE during the day, would like to explore here, then off to Cadbury, NJ
Day 2- Drive to New Haven, CT to check out East Rock Park, then drive to Newport, RI to catch a sunset cruise.
Day 3 - Check out the cliff walk in Newport and hit the beach if these is one, then head to Boston to an Air BnB and explore the night life.
Day 4 - Want to hang out in Boston for the day, never been. Head to Portsmouth, NH and check out the night life.
Day 5 - Explore Portsmouth, then drive to Portland for nightlife.
Day 6 - Head to Acadia State Park, sleep in that area somewhere.
Day 7 - Want to hit Vermont on the way back
Day 8 and 9 - Not sure what to hit on my last two days of driving back down south but would like to be back on Day 10 to get back into the work mind set.
That's about as far as I've made it in my planning. I know this is ambitious with just a few hours of driving a day, and I will most certainly be making longer trips on the way back, so I am totally open to changing any of this. I'm wondering if Acadia is worth the extra 3.5 hours there and 3.5 hours back just for a park. Thank you!
