Advice for an LA to PNW trip?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some recommendations on how to string together my prospective roadie from LA to the Pacific Northwest. I've cross-country'd from Massachusetts to Los Angeles twice and am now excited to cross off some other stops I missed in those journeys.

I have about 9 days to accomplish going from LA, through San Francisco, to Portland, Seattle, and back. I would specifically like to spend time in Mt. Rainier and Olympic Nat. Park, so am planning to LA-San Fran in one day for a good start.

Below are my initial thoughts, but going out to SLC and Antelope may add too much time to enjoy these ares, so is there another good route back without just backtracking?

  1. LA - San Francisco
  2. San Fran - Bend/Crater lake
  3. Bend - Portland
  4. Portland - Olympic/Seattle
  5. Extra day
  6. Seattle - Boise
  7. Boise - Salt Lake City
  8. SLC - Antelope Canyon
  9. Antelope - LA

I'm also planning to do this in October or November, I know California will be fine weather-wise for the most part, but would anyone speak against going to Washington & Oregon during these months?

Any help is greatly appreciated!! Happy driving.

Edit: I like to cap days at 8 hours, and try to make them less if I'm trying to hit the outdoors when I land. Naturally, a 10+ hour day can be accommodated for if I can relax more the next day.
