Storing Steel Jerry Can inside van for 2 week road trip?
In summer we'll be off on a camping/road trip for 18 days and there's some sketchy distances between gas stations for some of the trip. We should be fine. But just in case we are carrying a "UN Certified Jerry Can 20L" basically one of those classic steel jerry cans, which is basically a quarter tank for us.
Any issues with storing this inside the van where we drive and sleep?
Should we take it out while stopped maybe?
We have a rear basket but we won't be storing petrol on that as it can be dangerous in an accident, but maybe I should make a mount for storing the fuel there in-between drives?
We cannot use the roof for reasons (aside from heat).
Thanks!
