Maine to Seattle, late Aug-Sept - Seeking stop ideas and general advice for solo female road trippers
I'm planning to move to Seattle at the end of the summer and wanna make a month-long road trip out of it. I'll be taking the trip mostly alone in a Honda CRV, and since I'll be moving I'll have my belongings in there with me, so sleeping inside my car won't be very comfortable and I'd prefer stopping at places where I can pitch a tent near my car. Also interested in hostels or other cheap lodging situations along the way. Main goals of this trip are to do lots of hiking, and do it on a budget.
Here's the route I have in mind. * = must, everything else is just an idea and I'm open to alternatives
*first leg will be dropping my sister off at college in SC. Looking to make that trip quickly in 2-3 days, stopping to stay with family/friends along the way
Great Smoky Mountains NP
Nashville or Memphis (or both)
Ozark Mountains
Seeking recommendations for the stretch between the Ozarks and southern CO because that's too long a stretch for a single day
Great Sand Dunes NP
*Rocky Mountain NP (visiting a friend in Estes Park, so looking to spend a bit more time here)
*Grand Teton NP
Yellowstone NP (is it as overcrowded/overrated as many people say or is it worth it?)
*Sawtooth Mountains
If I have the time, Glacier NP (but I feel like I should just make that it's own trip)
