3 Days in Zurich in early October: Gimmelwald/Murren or Grindelwald
Hello,
I will be in Zurich for about 3 days with a friend and we would like to go up to the alps and hike in the mountains and/or see a summit while generally being out in nature.
My understanding is that Gimmelwald/Murren is less touristy than Grindelwald, and we are leaning on going there, but wanted to see what this subreddit thought.
We initially looked at going up to Jungfraujoch if we chose Grindelwald, but it seems like it may not be worth the money. We are willing to spend the $250 or so to get up there, but from the sounds of things, it is super packed and not as interesting as a mountain summit.
Is there something comparable that is in Gimmelwald/Murren? Are there any other places we should look at if our base for these 3 days is Zurich?
I'm a bit overwhelmed with the options and these two places seem to be the most popular for getting that picturesque experience of the alps. Appreciate the feedback guys!
