10 day Utah road trip itinerary, looking for input
Hi all, my husband and I are planning a 10 day campervan road trip mostly in Utah next month, and are looking to fine-tune our itinerary and get some good feedback. This will be our first trip to Southern Utah, and we want to fit in as much as possible without feeling dead by the end of it. I built in 1 free day, so any suggestions on how to use it are much appreciated!
Day 1: We are flying in to Vegas in the morning, picking up our van, and starting the trek to Zion. On the way we wanted to make a quick stop at Valley of Fire, and land in Springdale in the evening.ying in to Vegas in the morning, picking up our van, and starting the trek to Zion. Day 2: Zion NP.
Day 3: Shorter Zion hike in the morning, heading out to Bryce after this. We are hoping to stop at all the overlooks at Bryce in the late afternoon/early evening, then set up camp near by.
Day 4: Hike in Bryce canyon in the morning, then start the drive to Moab. We are wanting to stop by Capitol Reef NP as well as Goblin Valley SP on the way. At Capitol Reef we are interested in doing the Hickman Bridge hike, +/- driving on Capitol Gorge road. Hoping to get to Moab in the evening and set up camp.
Day 5: Arches NP.
Day 6: Canyonlands NP.
Day 7: Driving from Moab to Page, AZ. I didn't see too many stops on this route other than Monument Valley (closed), Valley of the Gods, and Natural Bridges NP.
Day 8: We are planning to rent a jet ski on Lake Powell and explore the slot canyons for a few hours. We were also wanting to stop by Horseshoe bend at some point in the day.
Day 9: Page to Vegas
We are planning on mostly camping on BLM land/gambling on the first-come first serve campsites, but I understand our chances at those will probably be somewhat low.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback on our plan, as we are relatively new to this and I'm sure I am forgetting something or under/overestimating things.
