First solo trip - heading to Thailand! Looking for some tips
I’m flying go to Thailand on Dec 9 for a couple weeks. This is going to my first solo trip ever (I rarely even travel to begin with). A few things I am worried about.
1) Meeting people - I’ve read that it’s really easy to socialize and meet new people. Is it that easy though? I’m hoping I’ll be able to meet people so I’ll have people to sightsee and do cool things with haha I’m not too introverted, but the idea of going up to someone randomly to just say hello intimidates me sometimes 2) Booking hostels - I only booked one hostel for when I arrive to Bangkok... I plan to book the other ones as I go. Would that be a bad idea because the best ones will fill up quick? I just didn’t want to be confined to a schedule if I had preplanned everything 3) I’m having trouble deciding what areas I would like to stay in on the islands! I feel like areas like ko phi phi are too touristy and too much of the party scene, but I don’t want to go to an island too low key where it’s hard to meet people and it’s all couples enjoying there romantic get away lol 4) do I need a universal plug or a converter? I heard most places take the standard prongs and that it’s ok as long as my adapter can handle up to 220V (which it does.. well it says 110 to 220V). Can I purchase these easily in Thailand if I have to? 5) Any other words of advice/encouragement for a 21 year old, petite asian female going on her first solo adventure?
