I'm planning out a month long trip for either August or September. I'm not planning on camping and instead doing motels/hostels. For planning a trip is two days enough for each location, including getting to the next location? I can't find anything online, is it worth it to visit and stop through small towns? I grew up in the NY suburbs and think it might be fun to stop through some suburbs in the rest of the country, even just to try the local restaurant with some random claim to fame, or to make new friends across the country.
