Lets talk Hydration for a moment.

Keeping hydrated while traveling (and in general for life) is very important. Over the last year, I have made a major change in what I use to stay hydrated. It's a combination of two items.

  1. Grayl Geopress water purifier bottle (24 oz)
  2. RTIC 26 oz water bottle. (use any 24oz bottle instead)

Now, the buy in on this kit is not the cheapest. Grayl Geopress is $90 and comes with one purifier cartridge for $90. Each Geopress cartridge is $30 (sometimes on sale). However, each cartridge will press out 350 times before needing replacement. That's 350 24 oz bottles of water for $30.

I looked at the avg water bottle price, and even at the lowest for a 12 oz bottle being $1.00, you are saving money with the Geopress.

I got the Geopress for when I was on the bike and camping. No waiting on gravity fed solutions. 15 seconds to get 24 oz purified (not just filtered) water ready to go. I have filled from streams, lakes, rivers, bathroom sinks and outdoor springs. No boiling, no chemicals, nothing. Just fill to the line and press the purifier down and you have 24 oz of drinkable, tasty water.

I carry the 2nd container just to have spare water.

If you think about it, drinking 5 24 oz bottles a day while traveling would cost more than $10 a day for bottled water. 70 days worth of water (5 presses per day) for $30? Easy. You will pay for the device in the first month. Even if you have 2 people using it, you still save money.

Here are the links. they are NOT affiliate links, I make nothing. I just want to pass on some great products that have saved me money.

What are your water solutions for on the road?
