Liability of a rental car in USA
Hi, I have a question about liability of rental car damage. Let's say I rent the car from Hertz and return it. With Hertz, they will send you an email containing the final receipt the moment they scanned your car which you will probably get before you even leave the lot. So my common sense says, if there is any damage to vehicle they will mention that in the emailed receipt or on the other hand if they didn't claimed any damage on the emailed receipt (except the usual rental charges) that means you can stop worrying about the liability anymore from that moment onward once you got that emailed reciept. Or is it like they can send you a liability notice even days after claiming nothing in the emailed receipt at the first place? Thanks for clarification.
