Should I solo cross country drive, or fly?
I'm a 21 year old guy living in Buffalo, NY. I'm planning a solo, five day road trip to Los Angeles to see my mom and brother. I plan on spending 2 weeks in LA before driving back across the country, except this time with my little brother to help with some of the driving. The trip there is 2,500 miles and I'll be driving roughly 6-10 hours daily for five days to reach LA. It's a hell of a lot of driving, which isn't something I necessarily mind, but my dad seems to think it's a bad idea and rather I just fly. Frankly, I've taken that flight so much, and driving just seems more exciting. I'm just looking for something to break up the monotony, because of covid I could really use a freaking change of scenery after being in the house for months. Plus, I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to do this kind of trip again, I've always wanted to see the country and travel, especially alone, and idk I guess I just want the responsibility of fending for myself and being independent. Plus me and my little bro cruising route 66 on the way home would iconic. Idk. Do you guys think I should drive or fly?
I should mention flights aren't super cheap, and they're all riddled with layovers, but I would save money flying over driving.
