Public bathrooms and hotels
My wife and I are planning to drive from San Francisco to Lincoln, Nebraska over the 4th of July weekend. We are bringing our own food/snacks and plenty of masks/gloves/sanitizer/etc. for when we have to stop and fill up for gas.
I have two questions about being as safe as possible:

Which types of public restrooms would you recommend? Gas stations, larger rest stop areas, or just pulling over and peeing outside? As mentioned, we'd still wear masks and take precautions but I'd like to avoid groups of people where possible.

We plan to take I80 and it's a ~24hr+ drive so we plan to stop at a hotel overnight. Any chains or hotels in particular you recommend? We'll (a) call them ahead of time to make sure they're open and ask about their COVID protocols and (b) I plan to wipe down surfaces in the room when we arrive.
