(Help!) Last minute road trip from Portland, OR to Hartford, CT
So after a nightmare experience/several failed attempts at shipping my car back east, I'm left with driving solo back east from Portland, OR to Hartford, CT. I have about 4-6 days to do it. I've come to terms with it and just trying to make it a positive.
I'm a 28 year old guy and his pup looking for any route suggestions (specific cities to stop at if possible, not trying to be too needy but I'm getting pretty desperate).
I know this is a serious undertaking but is there an ideal/efficient/safe route? I'm comfortable with 7-9 hours in a day (with brief breaks/gas trips), but I haven't traveled so last minute or without a concrete plan before.
Things I have going for me:
- Motivated/driven (heh) enough to power through
- I'll have my small dog who's carried me through grad school and residency to keep me sane
- Decent highway mpg/comfy car in case of car naps/sleep
- Minimal expectations as far as sight-seeing (just not that kind of trip sadly).
Things I have to contend with:
- Largely inexperienced, native floridian (sorry) turned Bostonian with a brief stint in the PNW that's mostly gotten around via flights.
- I'll have my small hurricane maria rescue that apparently thinks I'm taking her back to Puerto Rico every time our feet are not on the ground.
- Oh yea, just less than 48 hours to get something figured out.
TIA. Happy to return the favor if you ever find yourself in CT with a dental emergency ;)
