Headed west...but nervous about mountain roads
So I've had this roadtrip planned for a couple months. Chicago to Portland-ish. Hitting up monuments and waterfalls and national parks the way. I've previously only driven as far as Mount Rushmore.
So this trip is taking me through Wyoming, Montana, Idaho.... and last night...2 days before I leave...I have this anxiety attack that me and my little Ford fiesta shouldn't be driving some of those roads. I thought I'd come here to see if anyone has done a road trip like that and if there's any treacherous areas or roads that may not be great for my matchbox car. I'm in Chicago, so while I'm an aggressive driver- its flat, straight roads for me. And guardrails! The lack of guardrails in the Black Hills made me clench my cheeks a few times out there.
