Advice solo trip from NJ to Northern Cali via Austin and back?
Taking a road trip solo this summer visiting a high school buddy in Austin for a couple days other than that wide open. Planning on going for about a month and a half to two months. Im also trying to camp to keep costs down when possible but I’m a first timer to the national parks system. So ANY advice would be appreciated!
Ideally I was thinking of going west from Texas to LA and then up to the cost to Big Sur, Up to Seattle and over to Glacier national park and then back across Denver the Midwest etc.
Need advice on spots to fill in the trip. Trying to limit driving to about 8 hours a day. Was told that’s a solid number. Can I just park my car and pitch a tent in some of these places? Do they have Showers? Are they going to be open first week of August do you think? Sort of in the dark here on a few subjects lol
