[OC] Often I struggle with living in the present... except when I'm on a roadtrip. Music plays a big part of that. Over the past 10+ years, I've put together a library of 50+ playlists for specific moments, weather conditions, and regions experienced throughout a trip. Hope you enjoy!
Based on my experience, there are four types of categories of music-appreciating opportunities on a trip.
1. Playlists for iconic moments during a trip.
(A) the first drive when everyone is together
(B) the creepy drive through fog in the middle of nowhere
(C) the drive home.
2. Playlists for a given time of day.
(D) Rise and shine at the campsite
(E) Driving during Golden Hour
(F) A late night trek to the hotel at midnight
3. Playlists for a particular region of the USA.
(G) The Gloomy PNW
(I) The desert heat of the Southwest
(J) The country back-roads of Appalachia
(K) The world-famous fall foliage of New England
(L) The seedy parts of New Jersey
4. Good old fashioned mixtapes by genre.
I've gone ahead and made roughly 50 playlists to encompass all of these on Spotify. My plan is to add cover artwork with titles to make them easier to sort through. In the next couple weeks, I will be going live with my roadtrip planning blog: LivingMaass.com. I will upload them there as well to further help with navigating through all of these.
So, let me know what you think!
