Trying to plan a "Deep South" USA road trip
Hello everyone I'm new here and I thank you in advance for any tips and help. I'm from Italy. I'm trying to organize a road trip in the "deep south" of the US. I'm intersted in history, natural beauty, music, and some sports. I have three weeks (a little bit less if we consider the flights). It would be in late december, early January, something like from 20th December to 9th of January.
The cheapest flights from Italy for some reason are to Miami so I was thinking about flying there.
The road trip (I don't need to stop in every place to sleep but it's just to give an overview) would be:
Miami -> Savannah -> Atlanta -> Montgomery -> Selma -> Tupelo ->Nashville (through Natzchez trail) -> Memphis -> old route 61 to Clarksdale, Natchez and new Orleans -> Houston -> Austin for a little taste of Texas (flight back to Miami).
Things I would like to do: listen to a lot of music (country, soul, blues, rock and that seems easy), see an NBA match and a college amarican football match, see a rodeo, see some nature (from the car, no trekking).
Do you think it could be a nice roadtrip with reasonable stops? Should I cut something to enjoy it with less rush?
(sorry for my english)
