Looking for fun stops during my USA roadtrip (LA, MS, TN, AL)
So me and my old man are finally hitting the road together, going on a music inspired roadtrip through America (my love for Jazz has us starting in New Orleans, and from there we are travelling through Memphis (my pops loves Elvis), Nashville (for the country music), and then back down again for some more Jazz in New Orleans. Here is a rough idea of how we'll be travelling.
For the main cities, we already have a lot of fun things to do. But I'm looking for some fun stops along the road for our "travel days". We have 2 days that we will basically only be on the road and crashing in a hotel after. One day when we go from New Orleans up to Memphis, and one day going from Hunstville back down to New Orleans. (Memphis to Nashville is also a fairly long trip, but we plan to do some activities at night in Nashville).
So I'm basically looking for suggestions for things to do on the road. Any tips would be appreciated, from "there's a cool boulder you should take a picture of along the i40" to "this town has the best diner ever, go there for a true tennessee lunch". I'm looking forward to reading your suggestions.
