Driving from Cleveland to Columbus taking only backroads- has anyone done it?
Long story short- I am terrified to drive on highways and I get really bad panic attacks where I need to pull over suddenly, which isn’t quite feasible on highways. I am moving back home to Colorado, and meeting my mom in Columbus, where we will drive to Colorado. I’m currently living in cleveland, so will be driving from Cleveland to Columbus, and am going to take backroads only (no highways). According to maps, the drive will take 4 hours (as opposed to the 2.5 hours on the highway). I’ve never driven for more than 45 minutes or so without stopping. I am giving myself the entire day and plan on stopping every 45 min-hr for food/gas/stretching. I’ve tried to look on google maps and it looks like most of the trip will be on secluded, quiet roads, but I’m wondering if anyone can attest to this or has any advice on where to stop on the way or what to expect. The drive will be going south from cleveland, west of Akron, through Wooster, through mt Vernon, ending in New Albany. I would GREATLY appreciate hearing from anyone familiar with these areas 😊
