The Lord of the Rings was my first inspiration to travel independently - or: books with the travel bug

I'm reading it again and the feelings are comming back: I remember feeling excited about going out on an adventure when I first read it, too young to be able to actually travel by my own intent. Fellowship was always my favorite because of that, and the section before meeting Aragorn seems to me the best hike ever.I'd like to read some other fictional books with this "go out there and see it" spirit. They've always hit me harder than travel bloggers and the typical guides, where inspiration is concerned.Any suggestions? Thanks! via /r/solotravel https://ift.tt/2XRVJka
