Summer 2020 Travel Suggestions Needed! [Portugal, Spain, Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, Mallorca]
Hey y'all, I'm an 18 year old college student (19 next summer) that is planning out my trip to Europe in May of 2020 (yes it is a long time away). I am an avid hiker and love seeing beautiful buildings, castles, and most importantly, nature. I love going off the beaten path and not being tied down by anyone. Here are the places I'm going and how long I'm going to spend in each place. My main goal in Madeira, the Canary Islands, Mallorca, and the Azores is to absorb the beautiful nature.Spain - Barcelona, Gibraltar, Tangier, Seville, Malaga, Caminito del Rey, Granada, Toledo, Ronda, Segovia, Madrid | 18 days. Gibraltar, Tangier, Toledo, Granada, Ronda, Segovia, and Caminito del Rey are all day trips. I am not interested in Basque country or other places such as Valencia.Portugal - Porto, Coimbra, Nazare, Evora, Lagos, Salema, Sintra, Cascais, Lisbon | 15 daysI sort of put this one together quickly.Madeira - Funchal, surrounding areas | 5 daysCanary Islands - La Palma, La Gomera | 8 days, 4 days eachMallorca - Palma, surrounding areas | 5 daysAzores - Sao Jorge, Pico Island, Flores, Sao Miguel | 14 days (4, 2, 3, 5 days respectively)Is it worth camping on campsites in Madeira, Canary Islands, Mallorca, and the Azores?I have a budget of $3,500, and plan to use public transportation in Spain and Portugal, and rent a car in Madeira, Mallorca, La Palma, La Gomera, and Sao Miguel of the Azores. I plan to use mostly hostels but also some cheap AirBnB rental homes.Is this enough time/money to do this trip? Am I spending too little time in Spain?
