I'm looking to move myself from Eugene, OR to Detroit at the end of this month. I'm hoping to make the drive in five days, and take one of those days to stop and hike or see something beautiful. For route, I was thinking of generally heading up through to Spokane for the first day, stopping in Billings the next, Minneapolis the third day, and taking the ferry over to finish in Detroit on the fourth. Like I say, I've got one extra day to stop and enjoy something along the way.

I'm not crazy about stopping at somewhere like Yosemite, which will be overrun with tourists this time of year. Any suggestions along that route?
