Need help figuring out what to do first day in vancouver
x-post r/Vancouver, but go no responses there :/ lol This was supposed to be a group trip, but it may well end up turn into a solo trip so I figured it would be acceptable to post hereI'll be visiting vancouver for 4 full days in beginning of August. This would have been an easy trip to figure out but my friends are probably going to back out so I'll be travelling solo and as such, transportation will be more expensive/tricky.I was planning on doing Capillano suspension/Lynn canyon suspension bridge the first day and hike nearby or in Squamish. I was going to do the grouse grind, but upon further research, it seems like a tourist trap? The only nice thing is how close it is to the bridges and that there is a nice view of the city after.Preferably I would do a hike in squamish such as watersprite lake, the chief, take the sea to sky gondola, etc. But transportation is an issue when getting to squamish. Renting a car would be the best but kind of pricey considering I'll be staying in West End (hard to find parking) by myself and I'm under 25. I can uber, but that's also expensive, or take the bus, which would take >2 hrs. AFAIK the only bus I can take is from DT vancouver to city of squamish which I would need to take another bus or uber to the trails. Is there anyway I can be dropped off to the trailheads before the bus reaches the city?Option B is to just stick to area around West/North Vancouver and hike there. The hikes don't look as appealing there though from what I know? I don't mind long/hard hikes as long as it can be done as a day hike and it has a good payoff/views. Open to suggestionsOption C - use the whole day to take the ferry to Victoria and spend the whole day thereOption D - Spend 2 days at Whistler instead of 1Any input is appreciated!
