Lonely, overwhelmed on working holiday in NZ
Hello, everyone. Not sure if this is the right subreddit but it seemed to fit. I'm on a working holiday in NZ, currently in Gisborne and I'm so overwhelmed and stressed. I've traveled and have had jobs before but I've never traveled this long and I've only ever worked in my home country (USA). This is my first time really being out on my own, I've always lived with family or my ex and his family, or stayed with friends. I'm all alone trying to work and survive in a foreign place and I feel so lonely. I've been here for a month just traveling but now I have to settle down and work and idk what it is, but it's hard. I think I'm afraid of commitment and also I didn't choose the best city... But it's too late now as I'm running out of money and need to start work asap. I do have a job starting Wednesday, but I find that the longer I'm here, the more i miss my family and home.. With that being said, I'm only staying here for one more month then I'm off to Hawaii for a family vacation, then back home for a new semester. So like, I know I shouldn't be freaking out but idk...
