First solo travel as a 16 y/o

I just turned 16 so that means I can fly on an airplane without assistance. So it’s just me. I’m going to visit an old time friend to a State I’ve never been to. I don’t actually live in North America so the whole US airport thing I think might be confusing for me (I live in South America). Also, I am a girl and since I live in SA I’m used to the image that it’s not safe for girls to go alone anywhere, so that gives me a little anxiety.I’ve heard of new time solo travelers get nervous on their very first solo trip, but I feel my anxiety is a little more intense because I’m a teen and I’ve never actually been away from my family more than a weekend. No really, this is the first time I’ll ever be away from my family.Does anyone have any tips on what to do once in the airport? Or any tips on stranger danger or something. Any tips at all are welcomed haha.Thank you. via /r/solotravel https://ift.tt/2Ollytn
