21/F/USA Looking to Travel Solo to London THIS WEEKEND on a budget - Tips/Advice?

Hi, I am currently studying abroad in Scotland and I'm looking into traveling to London for this weekend. I'd leave Friday evening/night for London and then leave later Sunday afternoon/early evening. This is my first time traveling solo (truly solo) and first time going to London. Currently, this is only my second time in Europe, but I've been to Italy (Rome, Siena, Venice, etc.) and in Scotland I've been around the country (and I've been comfortable traveling by myself). I will be going to Dublin on Thursday with my friend, but unfortunately she won't be joining me for London. Next week I plan to visit other countries with friends if it all works out, but since I have this weekend free, I thought that I should try to take a trip to London since it's a short flight. I've looked at tons of blogs and articles but...help!!!AccommodationI would prefer staying in an Airbnb or somewhere where I'll have my own private room. I'll be exhausted Friday night after being in Dublin. I've looked into a few places already, but I want to have the best, safest and cheapest option. Or are there any other recommendations for accommodations?SightseeingWhat touristy/sightseeing recommendations do any of you have? I would love to see the Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, or other infamous sights, but I'm also into the more chill and laidback tourist stuff too, like just exploring the streets.I've also heard of The Great Gatsby immersive theater--any thoughts on that? I don't have any roaring 20s clothes though. Also, I'd love to do the ziplining with Zip Now...I'm such an adrenaline junkie. (but it probably won't happen because there'd be other things to do. but thoughts?)Traveling AroundSomething about the Tube?? Oyster card??InterestsI'm not big on history, but I love architecture/anything beautiful worth looking at (including nature, etc). So basically I'm not really a museum person. I'm more about the experience/beauty of things. I don't like tea but would be willing to try something for the sake of being in London. I love cute restaurants/cafes/coffee shops. I take lots of pictures for Instagram lol. I love shopping but don't need to do that.I love going to bars/pubs or clubs but I don't plan on doing anything too crazy. I'll be too tired, and I need to keep my wits. But if it's safe and if there was a highly recommended lowkey bar, let me know. I'd be open to a literary nightclub, never been and I think it's cool.Any advice you could give me would be great. If it all fails and I don't end up going to London, I'll probably spend my weekend in Edinburgh or Glasgow, Scotland. :)Thanks!! via /r/solotravel https://ift.tt/2GqW0ob
