The realization is finally setting in. I'm actually doing this
A little backstory: I'm only 20 years old. I've always wanted to solo-travel, but have never had the chance and my major in Uni doesn't really work well with studying abroad. 6 weeks ago the idea popped into my head that this summer might be my chance. In that time I've gone from having no plan, no idea what I'm doing, and not even a backpack to getting on a plane in 3 days headed for Rome. Researching gear, locations, hostels, phone plans, the best way to wash my underwear, etc. has taken up basically all of the little free time I've had these past few weeks. If I actually pull this whole thing together with barely a month of planning, ON TOP of doing school full-time, then I'll be very pleasantly surprised with myself haha. Now my last final is in a few hours and then this trip is right in front of me.
Just... wow. I've never done anything like this before. I still can't really believe it. I'm not sure if I'm more nervous or excited. Probably both. I'm sure everyone feels like this their first time. Any last-minute words of wisdom are very encouraged haha. I know I'll need them.
Cheers, everyone. See you on the other side.
