Solotravel to Japan in 2020. Yes or no?
Hi all,
Next year i'll most likely be finished with my studies. After i'm finished i'll finally have some free time to spend.
So i thought about doing something that i have always wanted to do which is to do a solotrip to Japan.
But it has recently came to my attention that the 2020 Olympics are being held in Tokyo next year.
My question is then whether or not i should still travel to Japan next year?
If i understood it correctly, things will become very expensive and crowded during the Olympics.
How bad do you all think it will be? Especially if you look at how things have been in the previous Olympics in other countries?
Can i come to Japan maybe 1-2 months after the Olympics and be safe or should i avoid going there altogether during 2020?
Or will perhaps not whole Japan will be affected by the Olympics? I'm thinking about cities like Osaka and Kyoto which are quite separated from Tokyo.
My goal with the trip is to explore the country and it's culture, i'll be visiting multiple regions and cities, so my stay in Tokyo will be limited.
I can't travel during winter or spring because of studies so summer or autumn will be my best bet. And if i don't travel next year i'll most likely have to postpone it even longer as i'll have to advance to university studies sooner or later.
What do you all think?
