Residence visa/work permit in the Schengen region?
Greetings, fellow travelers!
I’m headed to Belgium at the end of May for a music festival. I’d like to visit several other countries in the region (Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy etc etc). Ideally, I would be able to do this over the course of a year or longer, finding places to do a month-long Workaway or a nice place to settle for a few months and get a job. I won’t be able to last with my current funds for that long. That’s for sure.
Does anybody have experience getting a residence visa/work permit in the Schengen region? From what I’ve read, there isn’t a work visa/working holiday visa. I’m a US citizen, so I can easily get a 90-day tourist visa, but that won’t be enough. I know plenty of people backpack through Europe for extended periods of time so there’s gotta be a solution. What/where did you apply for residence/work permit? It seems like you’re supposed to apply the country where you expect to stay the longest. Any other helpful hints/tips/services?
Thanks in advance!!
