Namibia - Self drive or tour? (G-adventures?)
Let me preface this by saying I am the type of guy who always says I'd rather do things without tours, however my research into Namibia is making me question whether that is a good idea.
Those who are familiar with the region surely know there is really only 2 ways to see Namibia - self driving or with tour(s). The reason I am hesitant about self drive is how remote Namibia is, without reassurance of a cell/internet connection and flat tires/breakdowns can be a common and very real possibility.
Because I don't feel super confident about doing that solo, but also really want to see Namibia, I am leaning towards a tour. Has anyone have experience with G-adventures and would you recommend doing a tour with them, specifically in Africa would be ideal but anywhere I am still interested. Or, does someone with experience driving in that region have reassurance or reasons I should still consider self driving? Thanks for any advice.
