Managing cash for hostels.
I’m am planning a three month solo trip to Europe in the fall-my first time doing anything like this. I’ve booked a majority of the hostels already, and they each take a small deposit. I’m going to owe about $2500 in total when I get there, and most hostels I’ve booked say they prefer cash. I would rather not do a ton of atm withdrawals in Europe if possible, but I’m wondering what others do to manage cash on an extended trip. I thought about carrying that much with me and keeping it strapped to me in a security belt, but that makes me nervous as a solo traveler.
But, if I were to decide to go that route, what would be the best way (most economical) to exchange that amount of currency?
I’d truly appreciate any advice!
