High all together,

I wanna go to Greece for two weeks in September and I want to go hiking for on week and on an island for another. my actual plan was was to go to athens and drive upwards to "momodendri" and hike there for like 4-5 days. Afterwards going to the island Paxi for a week and then back to Athens.

So far so good, I am just not sure if I should go to an island and if so, which. I am scared that all islands are super touristic and expensive. I would like to avoid such places, since I am a little on budget too.

I am looking more for an adventure and small and less touristic Greek villages. Is someone here who can recommend a hike or an island? I would also be able to fly to Thessaloniki. So im kinda open for everything which is surrounded by nice nature :-)
