Help me choose between two possible trips? Western vs Eastern Europe
I’m trying to decide between two trips and would love some opinions from people who have been there. For a few different reasons, including lack of decent flights from my hometown, I’m locked into these and only these cities for my arrival and departures. I can venture out between them though if you have recommendations (not Madrid, Prague, Bratislava, or Vienna).
Length: not including travel time, I’ll have about 9.5 days on the ground.
Option 1. Porto > Barcelona
Option 2. Budapest > Brno > Krakow
My main interest is nightlife. It sounds like an unpopular opinion around here, but I’ve had an insanely stressful year and I’m ready to let my hair down. Also interested in food, music, history, and nature (though I’m try to avoid more strenuous hikes when I’m alone).
I’ve been to Budapest once before, but loved the city and heard that their party chain hostels are insane. Portugal/Spain will be an easier flight from the US since I only have a week and a half, but Central Europe would be cheaper once I’m there.
Anyways, thoughts?
EDIT: Also kicking myself because I know the second option is Central Europe, not eastern, but I can’t change the title.
