2 months+ in SE Asia: general pointers for further reading
Hi guys and gals.
I'm at the very beginning of my planning. I'm quitting my job around October (felxible) and want to travel for a couple of months, until Christmas I'd say. I was thinking South America but several friends suggested SE Asia because it's easy, cheap and beautiful, and - they say - more suited for solo travellers (first experience of this kind for me, don't want to "burn" myself).
It's indeed gonna be about relax, fun, meeting people and the seaside, but I love nature and animals so I definitely what to hike in the forests, and see different and off the beaten path attractions. Looking to experience life with locals, maybe even some volunteering? From what I've been reading, I'm thinking Thailand and Vietnam for sure, debating Cambodia and Laos or going down to Malaysia.
I'm here to ask for general pointers, travel bloggers that you enjoy reading, best online resources and yeah whatever comes to mind at this stage - will definitely post again when I have it all clearer, to have my itinerary criticized :)
Cheers!
