I’m going on a GAdventures group travel through Canada in a few months and flying into Vancouver two days before the trip starts so I can spend time in the area first.

Never been to Vancouver before and I’m trying to figure out what I want to do. I won’t be renting a car, but staying downtown so public transit is an option. Right now I’ve got two ideas - do a day trip with a tour company to Whistler which is a place I really want to see, and note my gadventures trip won’t be going to Whistler. Second idea is just renting a bicycle and going all over Stanley park which looks like a cool place.

Are these good ideas for a first time in Vancouver? Or any better suggestions, must see places or activities?
