SE Asia for 3 months. Places to go and places to avoid?
Hey, I am going to Southeast Asia for 3 months in September. I am aware that a lot of places are going through monsoon season. I have been to Indonesia before and I think I might start there because the weather is going to be nice and gives it time to clear up in the other countries. I will probably do 2 weeks across Flores and go to Komodo Island seeing as how last trip I never had time to do all that.
Countries I really want to see is Myanmar, Vietnam (Thinking about doing Ha Giang Loop on motorbike and possibly South to North Trail), Laos, Cambodia, I am thinking about Thailand but at the same time don't think i have time
I am going to avoid places like Phuket, Pattaya, Vang Vieng, Ko Phi Phi. Also when I was in Indonesia I loved Nusa Penida, Yogyakarta, Kuta Lombok. Was not a fan of Kuta Bali, Jakarta, Seminyak.
Questions 1. What kind of budget should I save up? 2. What are the must go to places for culture? 3. Places to avoid? (Overun with tourists and westernized)
