When should I travel to Southern Africa?
I'm really itching to visit South Africa/Southern Africa (not sure if I just want to visit the country of South Africa or some neighbouring ones as well). If work will give me an extra week on top of my paid 2 weeks, I might spend one week volunteering (animal related) . Interested in doing a safari tour, but also love beaches and would probably want to explore the Capetown area. I'm a little bit torn between just going in August because I haven't been out of my home country (Canada) in over three years, but I know it will be warmer if I hold out until December-February. Some sources also say that the august/sept is better if you're more into the wildlife.
Would love hear experiences from people going at various times of the year and what the pros and cons are! Please mention where you went and the highlights of your trip as well :)
