Vietnam in September before a bigger trip to SEA next year?

I'm planning a 6 week trip to SEA next year from november to december after I have my bachelor degree. However since that would be my first solo trip I thought it might be a good idea to go to vietnam for a 2 week trip first to get a "taste" of it and decide if I like it or not.

Unfortunately the only time I can go is august and september since thats when I have summer break (I'm from Germany). I heard it will ocassionaly rain which I wouldn't mind if it's only for an hour or two a day. I'm more worried about the heat since I'm not used to it and I tend to sweat a lot, so I was wondering if someone can help me with that decision.

I'm planning to go to Hanoi and Hoi An for one week each and stay in an AirBnB. I've never travelled alone before, only with friends
