Vietnam E-Visa Question! What do I do?

I purchased the e-Visa for Vietnam on my expected travel dates but now my route may be changing. The dates I entered for the visa are May 8 - June 7 on the document. I had a few questions about the validity of the e-Visa:

  1. If I make it into Vietnam during this window, does my 30 days start on arrival (i.e. if I get in on May 20, will it be valid through June 20?)
  2. If the answer is no for #1, what can I do to make sure it will stay valid (I'm planning on being in Vietnam for 30 days)? Should I change the dates? Try to apply for an extension? What would be the cheapest option?
