Somebody tell me I'm stupid or something...I just calculated my expenses for my solo trip
So yeah...I spent a little over a month and a half in Vietnam and 21 days in Japan. Now...I wasn't exactly TRYING to save money or travel within a specific budget, but I also wasn't trying to be extravagant. My ticket to Vietnam cost $595, Vietnam to Japan was $234 and the very cheapest flight from Japan back to the states (within the time frame I needed to be back) cost $907. So I spent 1,736 on plane tickets because I'm lazy and procrastinated buying tickets. The thing that's really fucking with my head though is that I some-fucking-how managed to spend an additional $7,000 in the nearly two and a half months. Japan was pretty expensive and I probably spent $30-35/night on hotels/hostels there.
I'm so confused and pissed off with myself that I spent that much. I feel like, looking back that I was in a fugue state of a sort and I was like de-personalized. I look back and it all seems like a dream. I truly am having trouble wrapping my mind around how I spent so much.
So about $2,500 was spent in Vietnam and about $4,500 in Japan. Tell me wtf I did wrong... or just tell me I'm an idiot because I truly feel like one right about now
