Solo backpacking western Europe in July. Ideas?
Hey everyone,
I'm going to be travelling to Europe from Canada for all of July. I have a pretty good idea of the places I want to visit but will also be staying spontaneous and can change anything during travels. The only things that are set in stone are my arrival and departure days and the cities I will be doing so from since I've already bought my plane ticket. I'll be arriving in London July 2nd and leaving from Rome July 31st. I've never visited Europe before so feel free to suggest any changes, etc.
Itinerary (so far):
- London - 4-5 days (staying with a friend)
- Brussles - 2 days
- Bruge - 2 days
- Paris - 4 days
- Salzburg - 3 days
- Venice - 3 days
- Florence - 4 days
- Rome - 4-5 Days
Will most likely be travelling with Eurail (thinking about getting a 5 day pass and just getting full price tickets for the shorter train rides or bus). Is this a good idea?
Also there's a big gap between Paris and Salzburg and I'd like to visit a city between these two but don't know where exactly. I've been suggested by friends Liechtenstein or Germany (Stuttgart or Munich) but I'd appreciate other suggestion and advice as well.
Thanks a lot :)
