Hi everybody. I’m (30M) travelling to Belize for two weeks in August all the way from the UK. The outward journey is long, 24 hours in total, with a reasonably long layover in New York. I arrive late afternoon in to JFK and instead of snoozing in the airport until my flight the next morning I want to go and explore! It will be a Friday after all.

I’ve been to NYC twice before, both over Christmas and both times I did the typical ‘touristy’ stuff. In my mind, I’d love to visit Brooklyn in particular and sit in a local bar or eat at a well known pizza place or something similar. What I want to know is there a particular area of Brooklyn I should head to that any of you’d recommend on a Friday evening? I’ve looked in to an area called Williamsburg which seems rather nice but Brooklyn as a whole seems bigger than I expected and I don’t want to get lost.
