Need advice for winter roadtrip to Utah National Parks
Hi y'all, I am in need of some advice. I'm (F23) wanting to do a road trip (with bf (25)) in January/February to several of the National Parks in Utah (i.e. Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, etc) and the Grand Canyon. We're in the St. Louis area and are debating if we want to drive the whole thing (4x4 Dodge Dakota) or fly into Salt Lake and rent a car (small SUV) there. We'd like to do it as cheaply as possible and have 7-8 days to travel.
I'll take any advice y'all got, but I have a few specific questions: -Is it wise to drive the whole thing? Mainly the whole snow thing. Is Monarch Pass the best route? -Tips for driving in the snow in the mountains. I grew up in Colorado (but moved before driving age) so I have some idea of mountain driving, but my bf is a flatlander. -Any experience with the above mentioned parks in winter?
Thanks so much for any advice or tips y'all could share with us.
