Kenyan citizen [26] [F] Passport stolen. Stuck in Tulum Mexico one month. HELP
I am a US citizen helping out my friend. She went to Tulum Mexico on vacation to celebrate her petroleum engineer job. She recides in Calgary, Canada.
This her story. My friend is a 26 year old Female Kenyan Citizen in Tulum (Aldea Zama) Quintaoo Roo, México
Her Kenyan passport with (a Canadian entry visa and an American entry visa posted on) was stolen on March 20th at an Airbnb in Tulum, Mexico.
Her permanent residency in Canada has been approved but she has not yet obtained her landing card and the Canadian embassy in Mexico said there is nothing they can do to assist or issue her any emergency travel visa since her status is implied.
She is from a visa required country of which She is not allowed to Canada, America or certain countries in Europe without a visa. To process a visa she requires a passport
The Kenyan consulate in Canada issued her an emergency travel document that allows her to directly fly to Kenya on the most direct route (But there are no direct routes to Kenya from Mexico)
She is not able to get on the plane and henceforth still stranded in Mexico.
She has contacted her job, has been trying to fly out every day, parents are working on shipping her passport, after Monday she will not have any place to stay(she can’t receive money from western union without an ID), all her money was stolen with passport while she was sleeping in her Airbnb. She went to the embassy, police and everywhere!! Still with no option to leave
