Hi guys,

Finally taking the plunge to travel South East Asia alone. I have from Mid May - September so wanted some ideas on what places to add to my trip. I like fun and culture, and I also want to be able to feel "safe". I'm definitely doing Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. I was wondering what country people think I should add onto this - maybe Malaysia or the Philippines or am I being too ambitious? Not interested in adding Myanmar due to their current record of human rights abuses towards certain ethnic groups and homosexuality (from what I have read this is ongoing but please feel free to correct me if I have got this wrong). For what it's worth, in September I will be starting a graduate scheme that I will be locked into for four years where I won't be able to take much leave to travel so want to try and see what I can without being rushed.

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated! This subreddit has been super helpful so far whilst lurking from the distance.
