Isle of Skye Hiking Recommendations Without a Car
Hi everyone, I’ll be visiting the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands for three days in a few weeks, and as I start to do more in-depth research, I’m realizing how difficult it’ll be to get around the island without a car (at 21, I’m too young to rent one).
Nevertheless, I’m trying to make the most of my trip and so would love recommendations for hiking spots on Skye that are accessible by bus or walking/biking from Portree. I already have the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, and the Fairy Pools on my list, but I’d like to get a little more off the beaten path, if possible. I’m open to taking a taxi or two if there’s somewhere I feel I really can’t miss that I can’t get to otherwise (I’ve read that hitchhiking is fairly common on Skye, but as a solo female traveler, it isn’t something I’m comfortable doing). Thanks in advance!
