Is a week in Vietnam a good idea??

Background: I (22, M) just thought of the idea of traveling from eastern United States to Vietnam for my college graduation gift. I would leave one month from now and I plan to spend a week there before I begin working full time. I keep hearing how beautiful and inexpensive Vietnam is on this sub, which sparks my interest. I have some experience traveling solo (study abroad in Australia) and I consider myself to be pretty street-smart. I like the sound of renting a motorbike and going on lots of hikes while there.

I need help making a decision of whether or not this is a good idea for me. Will I be safe traveling alone to there? Is a week enough time? Where/what should I go/do there? What questions should I be asking myself regarding aspects of this trip I am not currently considering? Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
